Ok so we all know Joy is awesome but it may not be filling enough gaps in your calendar if you have just moved and are wanting to meet people.

Well then I thought of VIEW. This is a volunteer organisation that generally caters to more mature ladies generally ladies who have had kids leave home, may be retired or just looking for some companionship and want to be part of a great cause. It stands for Voice, Interests and Education of Women

View is a valued part of the Smith Family and supports its work unlocking opportunities for disadvantaged Australian children so they can realise their potential through education.

VIEWS values are:
Inclusive and welcoming
Diverse and respecting
Supportive and caring
Locally focused while nationally active
Collaborative and future-looking

Now I have actually attended a view function with my neighbour on a mother daughter night ( I was the fill in daughter as her children live away and I was more than happy to step in). It was a fabulous night. We had a three course dinner and as we arrived there was a table of fabulous treats that you could purchase to help raise funds for VIEW and there was a guest speaker who was a former contestant on Beauty and the Geek, quite an interesting evening.

These ladies get together regularly to learn new skills, exchange ideas, develop new interests, have fun together and to do good deeds and help others.

Now there is an upcoming function for the 20th anniversary of VIEW so if you are keen get a group of friends together and book a spot. It is on the 10th of November and is at the mt Ommaney hotel/apartments and is $35 per head. There will be welcome canapés at 6.30pm and there will be a fashion parade and of course a lot of fun. If you would like to attend you need to RSVP to Di 3202 9759 or Val 3376 1717 by Wed the 5th November. You will need to either send a cheque to PO Box 520 Mt Ommaney or do an EFT to The bank of Queensland BSB 124018 account 10346055 by the 5th of November and if you do an EFT please send an email to centenaryview@gmail.com with your name on it.

Now if you need to know anymore information my delightful neighbour Lyn was the president for the centenary branch and is more than happy to chat to anyone who is interested in joining. You can contact her on 3376 9401. Just let her know that you read Jo’s blog on the Joy project website and she can give you any information you need or alternatively you can jump on their website. highlighted above

So what are you waiting for here is the perfect opportunity to meet more people, help a good cause and have fun all at the same time.

Help spread the JOY
