Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers

Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers

Flowers flowers everywhere !! that is exactly what you will find if you head up to the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers during the week Sep 21-30th 2018

Toowoomba is transformed into a stunning carnival for a week. With smells, visual delights, and fun activities. That you can experience as you walk around, drive around or take a tour. There is something for everyone in the family, from concerts, delicious food and wine to taste, fun kids activities, and a parade to top it all off.

This is a week not to be missed whether you are a fan of flowers or not.

The floral displays are just amazing!. My sister and I took our parents for a day out, last year while they were staying, as both are keen gardeners. We headed up on a week day and were welcomed with stunning displays of every kind.

We decided we would look around ourselves, so we parked at one of the main park areas and spent a couple of very happy hours in the gardens.

We were taken through a maze of colours and smells that are just a joy to experience.  Passing quintets orchestras playing in tents, food vans selling delicious yummy things, and of course stopping for an ice cream half way round. ( and yes a cup of tea 🙂 we are English after all ) .

There are many tours that you can go on if you chose, which make sure you don’t miss any of the displays on offer. So check out their website for these.

It was time to then hop back in the car and head up to Picnic Point where you have 180 degree views over the great dividing range.

The cafe at the top of Picnic Point is where we had some lunch and it was delicious, with views to die for. Before looking around more gorgeous displays up there. There was a surprise treat for dad to top off the day, as there was a band in the bandstand playing Johnny Cash songs. Who just happens to be his all time favourite artist.

So the perfect ending to  a stunning day.

There is so much going on during the week. We only did one day, and just scratched the surface of everything that goes on. Make sure you check over for on site calendar for what will happen this year  and set a date to go. You will love it 🙂

Blessings
