The Cove Bar and Dining – Restaurant review

Hello 🙂

Got another great restaurant for you today

This time back down on River Quay at South Bank but at The Cove Bar and Dining.

The Cove is positioned overlooking the river with a fantastic playground right behind it. We were here mid week for lunch on a beautiful winters day with the sun shining, no humidity and about 22c yep you get the picture it was idealic 🙂 The whole front of the restaurant opens up so you truly feel as if you are sitting inside a street cafe somewhere amazing, and you know what you actually are !

The food here has an all round feel from asian through to burgers and pasta all equally on the menu ( click here to have a look ) This isn’t the cheapest of restaurants but comparable with other sit down places in Southbank.

As the portions are generous, we were happy with some starters as mains, although our 10 yr old couldn’t go past the chicken burger and my hubby was starving and went for the pasta.

The San Choy Bow was definitely a big hit and was delicious as was the burger which nearly defeated a very hungry 10yr but he persevered and ended up very full and satisfied after an extremely yummy burger with bacon a whole fillet of chicken breast in it.

The pasta was awesome and cooked to perfection just al dente enough.

the spring rolls were huge !! nothing small about these but very good.

All food was delicious and didn’t take too long to arrive and the service was awesome.

What was also brilliant for us, was the enormous playground just behind the Cove so our son could play and climb trees while waiting for the food to arrive.

so what better way to spend a stunning winters lunchtime, than with a chilled glass of wine, a river view and yummy food.
