We live in this beautiful city of Brisbane often called the ” River city ” , and the Brisbane river truly does curve all the way through the city.
So for many people the reality of getting to work on a ferry is true 🙂
We are fortunate enough to have great transport on the river with the graceful city cats which glide up and down the river all day and have terminals up and down the river going from as far as University of Queensland up to Northshore Hamilton. To use the city cats you’re best bet is to get a Go card which is your ticket to lots of transport here in Queensland.
There is also the city hopper which just does a few stops in the city but is FREE !!! so you can hop from one side of the river to the other .
If you are just wanting to cruise up and down the river for fun then we have River city cruises which is a fun way to see the city and is a 1&1/2 hour cruise departing from southbank and they’ll also serve you morning or afternoon tea, so not so much your commuting ferry but certainly lots of fun 🙂
If you live in the city and would like to visit Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary ( check out our blog on this amazing place ) then a fun way to get there is on the Miramar cruise , which will take you all the way there, give you 2&1/2 hours to explore before taking you home again
So all in all we have some great ways to get about on our Brisbane River so make sure you take a trip !
