Hello Joy Friends
Here is one of my favourite asian restaurants in the Western Suburbs. Sichuan Bang Bang is tucked up in Wongabel Street, just off Marshall Road at Kenmore. We decided to take the Joy team and our lovely Joy husbands (HAGS Husbands and Groupies ), as we are now calling them, out for apparently Sarah’s birthday which funnily enough is not for another few months 🙂 , but who cares, no excuse needed for us all to head out for a meal and plenty of laughs.
Sichuan Bang Bang has been around for a few years now and serves up amazing chinese cuisine obviously specialising in sichuan and spice. They are BYO and are licensed as well and are open 7 days a week from 5pm until late. Now if you don’t have a booking you won’t get a table they are most often booked out, so make sure you book. I love the feel of the restaurant it gives you the feeling of being in a little groovy restuarnat in Soho in New York.
The menu is designed for sharing and this is the perfect way to go as it is so hard to only choose a couple of dishes. So we orderded up big time.
Our first course and my absolute favourite was the peking duck pancakes, I was so excited when they came out I totally forgot to take a picture but I managed to find this one on their facebook page.
Followed by the duck we had salt and pepper squid and chilli salt and pepper king prawns YUM!!!!!
Not sure what happened after that but the food kept on coming and it was awesome.
We had San Choi Bau
Sichuan wok fried eggplant with minced pork in chilli sauce
Mongolian lamb ribs
Kung Bao Chicken with dried chilli and peanuts (Spicy but amazing)
Quick Fried Green beans with minced pork and chilli oil
Sizzling seafood plate with fish, king prawns and squid
Xinjiang style Uyghur beef marinated in cumin
And of course some steamed rice.
P.S They have Peking Duck Mondays. Peking Duck is $10 until they sell out,
So book an early table and get down there and enjoy some duck!!!!
