Ok time for another restaurant review. Here at the Joy Project we take any opportunity to be able to get another blog out to all of our awesome joy readers. So this one was very easy 🙂 we decided to head to a fabulous new restaurant at Indooroopilly, for one of our Joy nights out, and at the same time we could review Nantucket Kitchen and Bar.
Nantucket is one of the new restaurants that appeared when Indooroopilly shopping centre opened after its huge renovation. On the Station Road side of the centre there are several new restaurants. Nantucket also have a groovy little 1940’s style diner (NKB Express) next to the Indooroopilly train station. We haven’t eaten there yet but if the restaurant is anything to go by then we will definitely be visiting NKB express.
Nantucket is based on the wonders of Cape Cod and has a contemporary dining feel. The decor is beautiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
They offer breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and cocktails and also on their website to coin their phrase they also are offering LINNER you got it at late lunch early dinner who doesn’t love that!! They had quite and extensive wine menu and plenty of other options on the drinks menu including some Iced Teas with a few added extras that sounded fantastic.
You could order a meal just for yourself or we opted to order a few different entree size plates and shared them. We tried plenty of dishes off the menu and no one was disappointed. There were crab cakes, corn bread with smoked butter, my favourite 🙂 Sarah here just butting in 🙂 having lived in ” The South ” this corn bread truly is yummy !! ok back to Jo pork sliders, sizzling potted garlic prawns, wild mushroom tagliatelle, steak with hassel back potatoes, some very tasty green beans and of course where would we be without a tasty Mac and Cheese and a whole fish. There were plenty of sides to add to your main if you wanted but they were also sufficient to have without adding any extras, which I always love.
Ok now I know you are all holding your breath and waiting for Dessert. Well I am a sucker for salted caramel, so I couldn’t go past the chocolate and salted caramel tart with honeycomb ice cream and some delightful fresh honeycomb on the side. It was awesome and Sarah tells me as full fat stuff is now good for us rather than low fat, that it worked perfectly for my new diet that I am on. Sarah opted for the raspberry souffle and from the look of this she enjoyed it.
Sarah here 🙂 yes that is me and no I have no explanation for the photo 😉 x
