Pressd Café in Newstead is a plant based café owned by Jon and Mel from Fig Tree Pocket. Plant based eating is a huge movement in America at the moment and after having lunch at Pressd café I can certainly understand why.
Set in a very groovy location in Commercial Road, Newstead, you feel kind of hip and cool just walking in the door. Its like you have found where all the cool kids are!!
The food is a range a fresh salads, smoothies and a breakfast menu. Sarah, Jo and I had something different each. Sarah had the Pressd Eggs Benny and Jo had the perfectly paleo poached eggs, with spinach, kale mushrooms, avocado and potato and sweet potato hash. I chose a salad from the glass casing at the counter and was not disappointed.
For those of you with a sweet tooth don’t despair, the three of us shared a lemon and poppy seed cheesecake which was delicious and totally guilt free. We ate it so quickly we didn’t get a chance to snap a picture of it. Pressd recently won an award for the healthy deserts they make and it is well deserved.
At Pressd they also make a range of juices, which are bottled on site fresh and distributed to other cafes as well. They have a juice detox program and also catering for functions. Head over to the website for more details.
If you are looking for a place to lunch where you will feel healthier when you walk out the door afterwards then pop into Pressd relax and enjoy a new experience.
