Hi Joy Friends 🙂
If you have just moved to Brisbane, and you are looking for an optometrist. We have a few that we use and recommend.
Jo here, I use Trevor Ward Optometrist At Albany Creek (I know it is miles from where I live) but I have been going for years. We have been using him for about 17 years and love him. He is so friendly and his staff can’t do enough to help. Trevor is an Optometrist and contact lens practitioner. Trev has the latest equipment testing everything from glaucoma, macular degeneration and eye sight. Some of the services he offers include refraction, retinal photography and ultrasound, tonometry and visual fields. He does children’s eye examination with behavioural optometrist including binocular and colour vision assessment.
He even has a paediatric developmental optometrist that visits weekly.
He is an agent for Veteran’s Affairs patients and participates in the Spectacle Supply Scheme (pensioner
glasses) and bulk bills all eye tests and has HICAPS so you can claim any out of pocket benefits from your health fund on the spot. There is also no gap spectacles for participating health funds.
Chrissy here, I go to Kenmore Plaza Optometrist . My optometrist there is Kylie Zahner. Kylie has a very special gift for dealing with children and making them very happy and comfortable when having their little eyes tested. She has been amazing over the years, especially with my eldest son Harry who has had a few complications. I highly recommend this practice, it is easy to get to and plenty of parking. Kylie and her team also has HICAPS and they are a bulk billing practice.
In most of the malls/ shopping centers you will find Specsavers and other big companies. These guys are great for a quick general check up and do take health insurance as well. so lots of options for you
Hope this helps if you are looking for an optometrist today.
