Hello to all our beautiful Joy Readers,
We have a fabulous new cafe at Anstead to share with you that one of my lovely friends introduced me to. It is Hawkes and Crosby at 1/540 Mt Crosby Road, Anstead. It is about a 15 minute drive from Kenmore so not that far out of the way if you are in the western suburbs. Their location has been home to a few businesses over the years but I have to say this is my favourite.
It is such a beautiful location surrounded by trees and bushland and the decor of the restaurant is lovely. The staff were very friendly and so helpful and who doesn’t love a waiter that lets you know it is a calorie free day and nothing is off limit yahoo????
They are open Tuesday – Sunday 7.30am-4pm and they had a sign up the day we were there advertising tapas on Friday and Sunday nights which I am VERY keen to try. We just had cake and coffee on our visit but I have to say I had the biggest piece of red velvet baked cheesecake I have ever seen in my life and my friend had the carrot cake which was also fantastic.
They do also have gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian options on their menu.
I am looking forward to heading out to try out the breakfast and lunch menu, which sad to say will mean a Joy Project excursion what a shame.
Hey lovelies Sarah here
Another good tip about this place is that it is right next door to Anstead Reserve which is a perfect place to go for a lovely stroll, or to take the dog for a walk, get your bike out or however else you might enjoy a few hrs out in the beauty of this place. And then Hawks and Crosby is the perfect place to go and get a cup of tea and a cake to replace all those calories your just burnt off 🙂
