Dear Joy readers
Well I had a fabulous play date with Chrissy’s youngest today and I was thinking now where can I take this little man that is a little different to most of the parks around town. So we decided to head off to Frew Park at Milton. We did manage to swing by the Mt Coot-Tha lookout first for some morning tea and to take in the fabulous views that the river city has on offer on a beautiful clear sunny day. So after Mt Coot-Tha next stop was the park.
Frew park is relatively new and is situated in behind the newly opened Roy Emerson Tennis centre. This park has it all. From flat riding paths, BBQ’s with tables and shelters, a huge big field in the middle to kick or throw a ball around and then the fabulous new playground that really does suit all ages, I was so impressed I was very close to joining in on some of the equipment. There was rock climbing walls, several different slides to cater for all ages, nets and cages to climb on and plenty of interactive equipment for littlies. The best thing was there weren’t any swings in site and you didn’t miss them one little bit and so this also takes away the inevitable playground issues when someone wants a ride on the swing and of course there is always a queue, so problem solved. Also mums there is a coffee shop you can get fabulous coffees from and sit back and enjoy your coffee while you watch your kids play.
so if you are looking for somewhere to go I totally recommend Frew Park, my ten year even loves it. Don’t forget there is plenty of space if you want to take a picnic blanket and some lunch or just have a sausage sizzle. Oh also forgot to mention if you feel like getting a bit of exercise in there are several exercise stations you can have some fun on.
Blessings the Joy girls
