Hello Joy Friends,
Its almost Christmas can you believe it. So you need the low down on how we are celebrating the festive season in Brisbane.
Join our Lord Mayor Graham Quirk for the Lighting of the Christmas Tree in King George Square on the 25th November at 5.30pm.
The Lord Mayors Christmas Carols at the Riverstage is a free family event on the 10th December 5.00pm to 9.15pm.
Make sure if you are in the city that you don’t miss the Christmas Parade presented by David Jones from 16-24th Dec every evening down Queen Street Mall starting at 7pm with an abundance of performers, Santa of course and so much more .
South Bank is stunning at any point of the year, but especially at Christmas!
We always make sure we go to the Hillsongs Carols at the Riverstage on from 19-22nd Dec at 7pm, these seats can fill up really quickly as with all our amazing events, so come early ! and you will love it
The South Bank Christmas Market will be held from the 16 – 23 December, I went to these last year and it was beautiful and a lovely way to do some last minute Christmas shopping.
And after all your shopping and Carols a fabulous way to finish you South Bank Christmas is the awesome South Bank Christmas Fireworks they have running from 20-23rd Dec at 8pm all set to Christmas music.
And don’t forget the South Bank Christmas Beach Cinema from Dec16-23rd at 7.30pm
Oh, my goodness you could plan the most magical evening with a trip to the markets, dinner, fireworks and movies and still be home early enough to get the little ones into bed. That is something we love about Brisbane it is such a liveable city. So easy to get around and do lovely things with your family and visitors from overseas.
Over in Roma Park we have the Enchanted Gardens which will have the most magical light display , have to say this is Jo’s idea of Christmas as she truly is the Christmas light queen 🙂 Roma Street will also be running some Christmas movies from Dec 10-16th at 5.30pm each evening click over on the link to see which movies they have showing
Make sure you keep an eye out close to where you live as well as many local schools and churches will run small Christmas markets which can be so much fun and a great way to get involved in your local community
We’ll be adding all the Christmas Carol and Church services in the next week or so, so keep an eye out for those as well
