Celebrate Spring!! Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers

Hi Joy Friends,

Happy Spring Everyone!! Spring is my favourite time of year, the time of new beginnings and fresh life.

You all know by now that I love Toowoomba, well this is the time of year when it shines and definitely when you should be visiting.  Toowoomba is just over one hours drive from Brisbane, a little climb up the Great Dividing Range.  The drive itself is a lovely one with plenty of places to stop off and explore.

When you arrive at the top of the range, wind down the car windows and you will be greeted with the smell of spring.

The Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers runs from the 18 September through to the 27th of September.

Toowoomba is very proud of its Carnival which has been running for over 60 years, and it seems to be getting bigger and better each year without losing the things that make it special.

If you pop on to Toowoomba Carnival of flowers website you will find a great line up of events during the carnival period. The main event area is Queens Park in Mary Street, this is where you will find events including Flower, Food and Wine festival, Sideshow Alley, Live Concert Series. The Cobb & Co Museum is also at the top of Queens Park and is well worth a visit to see a little of Australian History.  There truly is something for everyone and every age group.

The public is welcome to visit the private gardens that have been entered into the gardening competition. There is jump on, jump off buses running a circuit to these beautiful gardens. The owners love people coming in to have a look as they have spent hours and hours planning and gardening with so much love and attention to detail, they just want to share it with everyone.

These images are from last years Queens Park gardens. A small offering of what was on display. I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed if you pop up for a look. Such a simple pleasure given freely.

Many blessings Joy Friends.
