Hi Joy Friends
Jo here 🙂
We were at a loss one afternoon and felt like taking the kids out for a ride. As we have small children we wanted to make it an easy, enjoyable ride for them, so we opted to drive to Toowong and parked the car just on Sylvan road near the footy fields and unloaded the bikes. The kids were so excited. We parked here as it was a safe ride that is not to far away from the bicentennial bikeway.
This path is flat and smooth and goes all the way along the river to Southbank and beyond.
If you keep going you can actually ride through the Botanical gardens into the city and onto New Farm. The kids were great, no complaining, as it was an easy ride and great for the smaller ones to build their confidence on their bike. The only tough bit was over the Go Between bridge. but there was only one stop and a push required from mum and we were up and down the other side.
We rode through Southbank and opted to stop for an ice cream.
Next time we are going to drive to the University of Queensland and get them to ride a bit further but it is all still very flat and very manageable.
So if you get the chance and don’t want a ride that is to hard, remember to use the bikeways that go all along the river. They are just stunning !
