Joy in 2016

Dear Joy Friends,

Hello and welcome to The Joy Project in 2016!  It is amazing for the three of us that Joy is now 2 years old.  We have had the pleasure of meeting so many of you at our coffee mornings and the priviledge of hearing your stories and watching how your journey in Australia unfolds.

The Joy project began as a conversation while a game of golf was being played. A discussion about expats who move from country to country at the whim of large corporations and how incredibly difficult that can be for all members of a family. A realization came from that discussion that we could help and that we wanted to help.

Being blessed with an amazing friendship is a wonderful thing that none of us take for granted. Our desire to help all of you who are relocating came from an appreciation of how special friendship can be and how most people are craving a connection with others.  Sharing a cup of coffee when you have just moved, can ease the feelings of discomfort, loneliness and homesickness.  The prospect of being able to safely share your story and the possibility of friendship brings immense comfort.

For the three of us being able to run The Joy Project has brought us so much joy!! We are so delighted each time a new person turns up to share a cup of coffee with us, and often we chat to each other about how amazing it is to see new faces.

In this new year we hope to meet many more of you in your journey through life and hopefully we can provide a moment or two of comfort and friendship that will make the job of relocating to our wonderful city of Brisbane a Joy for you and your family.

Our first coffee for 2016 is on Monday the 1st of Febuary at 9.30am at the Mt Cootha botanical gardens café.

We look forward to meeting you there.

Much love

Chrissy, Sarah and Jo
